Day 1: Sorong – Black Rock
As you arrive in Sorong, our representative will be waiting outside the arrival hall and ready to escort you to the ship for immediate boarding. Safety briefing, crew introduction, cabin allocation and ship orientation will take place onboard before departing to Black Rock for our first snorkelling destination. Expect to see gorgeous soft coral gardens and schools of Raccoon butterfly-fish and emperor angelfish.
Day 2: Pianemo Island ‘The Mini Wayag’
This is a good opportunity to trek to one of the most famous lookouts in the region. The island offers a mesmerizing view of hills cluster from the top. From the viewpoint, you’ll see small islands rising up out of crystal-clear water. Snorkelling in this area offers a fantastic coral and a huge amount of fish underneath the stunning turquoise coloured waters.
Day 3: Arborek
On day three, we will cruise to Arborek where you can snorkel at the jetty which is famous for the huge schools of fish that shelter beneath it, and also for the colourful soft corals that cover its piles. There’s good snorkelling from almost anywhere on the island, but the reefs around the island’s eastern end are particularly rich. After snorkelling, we will have a vilage tour around the Arborek village where there are only around 40 families (198 people). The community of the villagers are well-known for the traditional handicraft industry of hats and ‘Noken’ string bags.
Day 4: Sawingkirai – Kri Island ‘Cendrawasih Trekking’
Early the morning, we will go ashore to visit Swing Kirai Island where you can observe many types of exotic birds. After a short trek along a jungle path, we will settle in at a small patch in the forest where we will find the Red Bird of Paradise performing their mating dance. These birds are endemic only to Waigeo Island and this region. Later in the afternoon, we will sail to Kri Island as one of the top snorkelling areas in north Raja Ampat that you can’t miss.
The coral and sloping reef in Kri is literally swarming with Jacks, Barracudas, Bat Fish, Black Tip Sharks, Turtles, Bumphead Parrotfish and thousands of smaller reef fish.
Day 5: Sorong
After breakfast, it is time to say farewell and get ready to disembark the boat. Our crew will drive you back to Sorong airport to continue your journey home. We look forward to welcoming you on board again.
